FISHING IN RIDRACOLI

THE 2026 FISHING SEASON RUNS FROM THE LAST SUNDAY IN MARCH TO THE LAST SUNDAY IN JULY

    • To fish in the reservoir, you need a valid fishing license and a Category D fishing permit, which allows fishing in smaller lakes and rivers throughout Italy.
    • Fishing is permitted on Thursdays, Saturdays, and public holidays, with a single rod.
    • Groundbaiting and the use of maggots are strictly prohibited.

    PRACTICAL ADVICE AND RULES

    1) Cooperate with the supervisory staff

Staff are responsible for monitoring fishing activities and enforcing regulations at the Ridracoli Reservoir. Upon arrival, provide your personal details and sign the attendance sheet. At the end of your session, inform the staff before leaving.

    2) Respect the environment

Do not pollute the water or soil. Groundbaiting and any littering are forbidden. Use earthworms or chromokinetic baits. Fishing with live baitfish is prohibited to prevent introducing non-native species.

    3) Pay attention to safety

Stay within designated areas and never cross protective barriers near the lake. Use a long-handled landing net for larger catches and remain aware of risks such as slipping, falling, or drowning.

    4) Fishing times and access hours

    • Morning: 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

    • Afternoon: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Only 80–100 anglers are allowed per session in the equipped areas.

    5) Fishing from the top of the dam

Allowed only during the open season on weekdays, following safety instructions and without disturbing other visitors.

    6) Second designated area

A marked path (approx. 20-minute walk) leads to a quieter area, free of submerged shrubs and with gradually deeper waters.

    7) Main restrictions

    • Only Type D waters (as defined by regional law) are open for fishing.

    • Use a single rod with one barbless hook and worms or artificial lures.

    • Maggots, salmon eggs, or similar baits are not allowed.

    • Groundbaiting of any kind is prohibited.

    • You must hold a regional fishing license and permit in accordance with Article 16 of Regional Law 22-2-1993, No. 11.

    • Fishing is allowed only in designated and marked spots.

    8) End of session

Show your catch to staff and submit the attendance sheet for verification.

    9) Follow official permits

Comply with the requirements specified in the “NULLA OSTA” (official permit) issued by the Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona, and Campigna National Park.
